Mother`s Day.

Mother`s day celebrated, or observed in most of the world... at least it felt like it was all over the world. 

People who had moms nearby showed their love by taking them to dinners or buying gifts, people who were far away made calls to their Mothers to explain their innocent" older ones "that this time they are calling for the reason of "Mother`s day". 

Calling your family and showering your family members with gifts is not a new concept for  Desis... Which will not usually will say it in words or hugs but the show of respect and care do it for us in subcontinent, now it became more of a trend to mark one day a year to your Mother however  just few days before this Mothers day, I witnessed a best display of  love for a mother when out side a "Bata Shoe Store" , I saw a middle aged man standing next to his old mother while she was trying shoes of her choice sitting on a comfortable chair... She was not to climb few steps because her son took care of that... keeping in mind her weakness her limits and respecting that. This was the best way to pay tribute to one`s mom, when she is not demanding it,  giving her choice, without her asking, giving her respect and taking time out for all the attention  isn't  that's all what matters at the end !

Fortunately caring for ageing parents is part of our culture and scenes like this are not rare, but changing lifestyles making our mothers lonelier than ever  before, over emphasis from media on  the topic does make it harder for some to go through the day without sadness, media shows old homes and orphanage just the flip side of the coin.
